Healing through relationships using EFT is not about finding a quick fix. It’s about getting to the heart of what’s been happening "within and between" to create lasting change.
What is Emotionally Focussed Therapy
EFT helps couples deepen their understanding of themselves & others, the patterns they’re repeating unintentionally in relationships, and helps folks figure out where they’re getting stuck.
There is EFT for couples, and EFIT for individuals.
The approach is a lens. Meaning, it’s a way a therapist conceptualizes where healing will come from. EFT helps couples (and individuals) rebuild bonds. It is a compassionate way of working with people. Which also means there's lots of vulnerability needed. If that's not there, we can't get too deep which is generally where that ol' pain resides.
I’m warm, directive, and will make you laugh but also interrupt old patterns flaring up in the room. So you may laugh and you may hate me (but only for a little while;) at the same time. I ask everyone to practice in session expressing their inside experiences clearly and vulnerably to their partner (don't worry, we work on this together. It's hard for us all to know what that is!)
