July 4th, 2007 ... Welcome Micah Jon Davis!

Micah... What an amazing baby and birth. Labor began around 9:30 or so in the evening while watching Firewall with Daddy. After about 15 minutes on the breast pump to try and initiate labor, it was quite apparent that it needed no help. By 11pm Ellen and Keri were called and on their way.

Ellen was there to help the big brothers understand what was going on and keep them out of trouble. Keri was there to video and take photos. Joy was called and notified and we told her we would call her back when we were ready. About 1:15am the water broke so I felt it was time to call Joy.

Labor was fast. About 5 hours or so. Intense at the end, but so beautiful. Being surrounded by my husband and boys, my dearest friends and making sure the Lord was invited to be by my side, it was an experience I will never forget and forever be changed by!

By 3:26am Micah slid into the world and into his Mommy's hands. With Daddy's unfailing support, Mommy was the one who received Micah into the world!! Amazing! He weighed in at a whooping 10 pounds 4 ounces and 22 inches long surprising everyone including the midwife.

Our family has become five and it has been a beautiful transition. The big brothers were at the side of the pool watching Micah join us and they are now the most devoted, protective big brothers all a mother could ever dream of for her children!
